The Rai Family in Eldoret

The Rai family is one of the most prominent and influential families in Eldoret, Kenya. The family is originally from India but has been a part of Kenyan society for generations. They first settled in Eldoret in the early 1920s and have been a driving force in the town's growth and development since the early 1900s. One of the most notable businesses of the Rai family is Rai Plywood Kenya, which is one of the largest plywood manufacturing industries in Kenya. The company has provided employment opportunities to thousands of locals, thus contributing to the growth and development of the community. The family initially worked in the transport industry, hauling goods between Eldoret and surrounding towns in the late 1940s.
