Moiben Level 4 Hospital, in Uasin Gishu County, has recently been at the center of a significant controversy involving legal disputes and financial concerns.

The hospital is part of a broader initiative by the Uasin Gishu County Government to enhance healthcare infrastructure.
Governor Jonathan Bii highlighted the need for substantial funding to complete ongoing health projects, including Moiben Level 4 Hospital, which requires KES 300 million for infrastructure and an additional KES 250 million for equipment.
A legal dispute has emerged involving the awarding of a KES 1 billion contract for the construction of Moiben Level 4 Hospital.
Martin Chemonges Siwa, the contractor awarded the project, sued the Uasin Gishu County Government over the contract's execution.
Moiben MP Hon. Phyllis Bartoo publicly questioned the awarding process, expressing concerns over the transparency and legality of the contract.
Despite the controversy, the county government has announced plans to establish the Level 4 hospital on-site, supported by an increased drug allocation from KES 240 million to KES 350 million . The hospital is also part of a broader initiative to provide free rehabilitation services in the region.
